What is Gonal-F®?
Gonal-F® is a follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), one of the hormones that stimulates the ovary to make mature eggs. Gonal-F® is used to stimulate the development of multiple follicles in women undergoing assisted reproductive technology treatments(ART).

How Do I Use Gonal-F®?
Here are step-by-step instructions for taking Gonal-F® (follitropin alfa) Multi-Dose injections:

Flip the protective plastic cap off of the Gonal-f® Multi-Dose vial.

Wipe the top of the vial with an alcohol swab.

Carefully twist and pull off the rubber cap from the prefilled syringe of Bacteriostatic Water. To prevent contamination, avoid contact with the needle.

With the vial of Gonal-f® powder on a flat surface, insert the needle of the prefilled syringe straight down through the marked center circle of the rubber stopper. Slowly inject the water into the vial. DO NOT shake.

After all of the water has been injected into the vial, remove your finger from the plunger, allowing the plunger to rise to its original position. Withdraw the needle safely and dispose of it in your safety container.

Wipe the top of the vial with an alcohol swab.

Remove the wrapper from the custom-dosing injection syringe. Carefully loosen and pull the plastic cap from the needle and avoid touching the needle.

With the vial of reconstituted Gonal-f® on a flat surface, insert the needle straight down through the marked center circle of the rubber stopper.

Without removing the needle from the vial, turn it upside down so that the needle points upward.

Slowly pull the plunger back until the syringe fills to slightly more than the unit marking that corresponds to your prescribed dose. Keeping the needle in the vial, slowly push the plunger to your prescribed dose. This will clear any air bubbles.

Carefully remove the syringe from the vial and recap the needle. The custom-dosing syringe is now filled with the prescribed dose of Gonal-f® and is ready for administration. Once reconstituted, store remaining solution at room temperature or refrigerate for up to 28 days.

Gonal-F® se utiliza para estimular el desarrollo de múltiples folículos en mujeres que se someten a tratamientos de tecnología reproductiva asistida (ART, por sus siglas en inglés).

¿Cómo utilizo Gonal-F®?
Aquí incluimos instrucciones paso a paso para administrar inyecciones Gonal-F® (folitropina alfa) de dosis múltiples:

Remueva el capuchón protector de plástico del vial de Gonal-f® de dosis múltiples.

Limpie la parte superior del vial con un hisopo con alcohol.

Con cuidado, gire el capuchón de goma de la jeringa precargada con agua bacteriostática y tire de él. Para prevenir la contaminación, evite el contacto con la aguja.

Con el vial del polvo de Gonal-f® dispuesto sobre una superficie plana, introduzca la aguja de la jeringa precargada en línea recta y hacia abajo, a través del círculo marcado en el centro del tapón de goma. Lentamente, inyecte el agua en el vial. NO agite.

Después de haber inyectado toda el agua en el vial, quite el dedo del émbolo y deje que este se eleve a su posición original. Retire la aguja de manera segura y deséchela en su recipiente de seguridad.

Limpie la parte superior del vial con un hisopo con alcohol.

Remueva el envoltorio de la jeringa para inyección de dosificación personalizada. Con cuidado, afloje y tire del capuchón de plástico de la aguja y evite tocar la aguja.

Con el vial de Gonal-f® reconstituido sobre una superficie plana, introduzca la aguja en línea recta y hacia abajo, a través del círculo marcado en el centro del tapón de goma.

Sin remover la aguja del vial, colóquelo al revés de modo que la aguja apunte hacia arriba.

Lentamente, tire del émbolo hasta que la jeringa se llene un poco más que la marca de la unidad que corresponde a su dosis recetada. Con la aguja en el vial, lentamente, presione el émbolo hasta su dosis recetada. Esto eliminará cualquier burbuja de aire.

Con cuidado, remueva la jeringa del vial y vuelva a tapar la aguja. La jeringa de dosificación personalizada ahora está llena con la dosis recetada de Gonal-f® y está lista para administrarse. Una vez reconstituida, almacene la solución restante a temperatura ambiente o refrigérela por hasta 28 días.
